Saturday 9 March was a big day, as it was Matthew’s last day official day in rehab. A very big moment that signals a big step forward for everyone, although there’s a sense of nervousness about how everything’s going to work at home.

A huge thank you to all the nursing staff at the Mater Private Rehabilitation Unit, and a particular thanks to Dr Saul Geffen, Matthew’s senior rehabilitation specialist who we know moved a few mountains to make sure Matthew had the best of care, but more importantly, worked to ensure the kids were involved on a daily basis. Of course, they celebrated the occasion with a sleepover!
